Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in the No.2 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet was fastest in race day warm-up ahead of today’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding with a time of 01:01.1952s.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, who started the race from sixth, was second fastest in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda with a time of 01:01:5426s just ahead of defending series champion Alex Palou.
It was a great session for Felix Rosenqvist, who was fourth, just ahead of David Malukas of AJ Foyt Racing, and Marcus Ericsson, who was sixth, just ahead of Graham Rahal and Christian Rasmussen.
Pato O’Ward was ninth, just ahead of Colton Herta and Kyle Kirkwood. Louis Foster was 12th, just ahead of Will Power and Rinus VeeKay, while Santino Ferrucci was 15th, just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Ed Carpenter Racing’s Alexander Rossi.
Sting Ray Robb was 18th just ahead of Nolan Siegel and Callum Ilott who rounded out the top twenty. Pole sitter Scott McLaughlin was 21st just ahead of Conor Daly. Jacob Abel was 23rd, just ahead of Kyffin Simpson, who in turn was ahead of Marcus Armstrong. Devlin DeFrancesco was 26th while Robert Schwartzman rounded out the order.
