Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Chevrolet says he has no immediate plans to compete in NASCAR but that for now he is focused on his NTT IndyCar Series commitments.

Speaking during IndyCar media day, Newgarden said that his focus is on winning a third championship and his Indianapolis 500 in 2021 but that doesn’t mean that NASCAR is off the table completely.

The Tennessee native goes into this season off the back of an extremely strong 2020 season where he was pipped at the post by Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon.

When it comes to NASCAR, Newgarden says that he loves the car and is excited to give it a go.
