The Tennessee native has also taken a step closr to the championship taking a bonus point for the pole with a two lap average of 186.508MPH and leads the championship by 36 points.

Vasser Sullivan Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda starts the race from second place just ahead of Will Power in the third sharing the second row with his team mate Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet in fourth.

Takuma Sato in the No.30 MiJack Panasonic Honda starts from fifth for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing just ahead of Santino Ferrucci in the No.19 Cly Del Honda for Dale Coyne Racing.

Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda starts the race from seventh just ahead of defending series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda.

Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda starts the race from ninth while Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts starts from 11th just behind Felix Rosenqvist in the No.10 Monster Energy Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing.

Colton Herta in the No.88 Capstone Turbines Honda for Harding Steinbrenner Racing starts the race from 12th place just ahead of Spencer Pigot in the No.21 Autogeek Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing.

Marcus Ericsson in the No.7 Arrow Electronics Honda starts from 14th just ahead of Zach Veach and Graham Rahal.

Ed Carpenter starts from 17th just ahead of Conor Daly and Charlie Kimball for Carlin.

Tony Kanaan and Mathues Matt Leist start 20th and 21st respectively as Marco Andretti rounds out the grid.
