Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in the No.2 PPG Chevrolet took to X on Monday to thank the AMR Safety team for helping him following his huge accident at World Wide Technology Raceway on Sunday.

Newgarden was leading the race when he came up behind Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Louis Foster who he was set to lap, Foster hit the wall on the main straight and as his car came down the track, Newgarden had nowhere to go and was launched upside down.

Speaking on Monday, Newgarden said:

Not sure what to say, other than thank you to the AMR safety team and the safety of the car.

Seemed like everything was going our way last night, until it wasn’t. Not much you can do in a situation like that. This season has been pretty trying for everyone on the 2 crew. Only thing to do is look forward. It will only make the successes even sweeter.

See you in Road America!🇺🇸
