Team Penske’s three drivers, Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Business Chevrolet, Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 Pennzoil Chevrolet, and defending Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Shell Chevrolet, had an extremely good opening day of qualifying for the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on Saturday. They started the day early and locked out the 1,2,3 for Roger Penske’s team.

Speaking to Paddock Eye following his action, Newgarden said he thinks the car is pretty good. He is excited to be with the team, which has done a great job. They have three cars in the fight to run for the pole in Sunday’s Fast 12 and Fast 6 sessions and they will put their best foot forward.
