Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou in the No.10 American Legion Chip Ganassi Racing Honda sees no added pressure heading to the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park as defending race winner.

Speaking to Paddock Eye during a pre-race Zoom conference call on Thursday ahead of Sunday’s race, Palou said that there is no added pressure to win at Barber Motorsports Park but he believes that the win is close to coming his way this season.

Palou told us that the test here around a month ago went really well and they learned a lot from the test. The Spaniard also said that he feels that Jimmie Johnson is doing a fantastic job with Ganassi now that he has moved up to a full-time NTT IndyCar Series drive in the No.48 Carvana Honda.

Palou also spoke about the recent open test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway ahead of the month of May and he said that the team had a great test there and that they are looking forward to the entire month of May but for now are firmly focused on the race in Barber this weekend.
