Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene has confirmed that he has not discussed contracts with either Kimi Raikkonen or Sebastian Vettel as it is too early for such talks to take place.
Vettel who took victory in last weekend’s season opening Australian Grand Prix was extremely frustrated at times during the 2016 season which led to rumors that he was looking to leave Maranello. It has also been suggested that the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team might look to sign the four time world champion for next season with their current driver Valtteri Bottas out of contract at the end of this season.
Kimi Raikkonen who finished the opening race in fourth place is also out of contract at the end of the season.
Arrivabene has confirmed that he feels contract talks at this early stage in the season would be a distraction to his drivers and he wants them to focus on their on track performances and not on what might happen outside the car.
