Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter Reay has told Paddock Eye that the small lay-out changes to the Honda Indy Toronto layout this season won’t affect the way the DHL team will set the car going into the weekend.
It terms of overtaking, the 2012 Toronto winner said that the best overtaking opportunities are going into Turn 1.
The main issue that the drivers will face this weekend is the concrete surface on the race track which is different compared to the other surfaces that the series has experienced in recent races.
The surface is similar to that in Detroit where Hunter Reay finished race two on the podium in third place and he is hoping for a similar result this weekend. Hunter Reay goes into this weekend’s race in 12th place in the series standings on 264 points, five behind Juan Pablo Montoya.
