Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe says he is probably the most excited driver to be getting back to racing as the Verizon IndyCar Series heads to Belle Isle for the Detroit Grand Prix double header.
The Mayor of HinchTown missed the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil last weekend and speaking ahead of Detroit he said:
“I don’t think anyone is looking as forward to getting to Detroit as I am. We are obviously pretty keen to put May behind us and look forward to the rest of the championship. We were on the podium here last year and have had decent pace on the street circuits, so fingers crossed we can have a strong weekend in the Arrow Electronics car and get our season back on track
Robert Wickens heads to Detroit following a strong race in Indy and speaking ahead of the event this weekend he said:
The ‘month of May’ is done and I’m ready to get back to normal life. I’m really excited for Detroit – a doubleheader weekend. It’s actually going to be something I’m pretty used to because, for the last handful of years racing in DTM, we always did doubleheaders: a race on Saturday and a race on Sunday. It’s going to be a fun one, it’s going to be challenging, and a new track for me. I think everyone on the No. 6 Lucas Oil car and everyone at Schmidt Peterson Motorsports is going to do a great job. I’m sure James [Hinchcliffe] is going to be hungrier than ever to come back, and I’m going to be feeding off of that energy.
