McLaren Racing’s Lando Norris who finished the Monaco Grand Prix on the podium in third place last weekend says that he would like to compete in the Indianapolis 500 some time in the future as he likes the uniqueness of the event.
Norris has no previous experience of IndyCar however, it did take part in the IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge last season. Norris says that the Indy 500 is different to the likes of the Monaco Grand Prix as you have to work on your strategy to ensure that you can win the race.
The McLaren driver was part of a Sky Sports F1 HD’s Indy 500 panel alongside Natalie Pinkham and Tom Gaymor and speaking during the coverage, Norris said that he feels that the Indy 500 is a prestigious event that people look forward to each year because it is so unique and different to any motorsport that people are used to and that is why he would like to compete in it one day.
Arrow McLaren SP has entered three cars in the Greatest Spectacle In Racing with Fernando Alonso joining Pato O’Ward and Oliver Askew while this season, Juan Pablo Montoya joined Pato O’Ward and Felix Rosenqvist in the race that took place last weekend.
It is possible that Norris could compete in the third Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet in the future.
