Chip Ganassi Racing Managing Director Mike Hull says he was totally surprised by the decision from Arrow McLaren SP to release James Hinchcliffe for the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season.
It was reported on Monday night in the US despite no official confirmation from the team that Arrow McLaren SP and James Hinchcliffe have parted company. The report also claims that the Chevrolet powered team will confirm Oliver Askew and Patricio O’Ward as their two drivers later this week.
Speaking to Paddock Eye about the matter when asked if the team would consider running a fourth full time car for the Mayor of HinchTown in 2020 Hull said there was nothing to report.
Chip Ganassi Racing will run three full time cars next season with James Hinchcliffe’s old Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports team mate Marcus Ericsson joining Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist at the team.
