Verizon IndyCar Series driver and 2013 Indianapolis 500 winner Tony Kanaan was on track at Sonoma Raceway on Wednesday as he joined his Chip Ganassi Racing team-mate’s Scott Dixon, Max Chilton and Charlie Kimball preparing for the upcoming season.
Kanaan who joined Chip Ganassi Racing in 2015 replacing his former Andretti Autosport team mate and good friend Dario Franchitti after the Scot was forced to retire from racing following injuries he suffered at the end of the 2014 season. Kanaan entered the 2015 season driving the No.10 NTT Data Chip Ganassi Racing Team Chevrolet.
For 2016, NTT Data return as the primary sponsor of Kanaan’s No.10 Chevrolet however while last season the car had a tint of red on it, this year the car is primarily a dark shade of blue to reflect NTT Data’s colours.
Kanaan ended the 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series season in eighth place and was the highest placed Ganassi driver other then Dixon who won the championship.
