Hyundai Motorsports Craig Breen says it’s onwards and upwards following a strong final day on Sunday at Arctic Rally Finland in Lapland for the Waterford native and his co-driver Paul Nagle as the pair finished the final power stage of the event in second place overall just behind Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Kalle Rovanpera.
Breen and Nagle struggled with their tyre performance this weekend however they put that behind them on Sunday to secure a wonderful result on Sunday to ensure that they finished the event in fourth place overall.
Breen came home just behind his team mate Thierry Neuville and Kalle Rovanpera while Ott Tanak took his first win of the season. Speaking following the event the Irishman said:
We have finished the Arctic Rally Finland with 2nd overall on the power stage. I have to say a massive thanks to the team and my engineers, they gave me some really beneficial info on things I was doing wrong. It was really hard mentally for me this weekend, after delivering so much in Estonia, the goalposts moved suddenly and you just want to deliver a win. Still, to be on the pace and finish 4th overall is a good result and 3 Hyundai’s in the top 4, is great for the team. Onwards and upwards!
