Chip Ganassi Racing announced an expanded partnership with OpenAI on Wednesday with the company set to serve as primary sponsor to championship leader Alex Palou who will drive the No.10 OpenAI Honda for Sunday’s Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The Spaniard goes into the race weekend with a 93-point lead in the championship over Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood.

Speaking about the expanded partnership, Sarah Russell, Head of Integrated Marketing, OpenAI:

“At its core, this collaboration is about curiosity, and how human skill and AI can push each other further. We’re proud to be represented at Mid-Ohio with Chip Ganassi Racing as part of our ongoing effort to explore how AI can complement human expertise and help advance performance.”

Chip Ganassi, Owner, Chip Ganassi Racing:

“Partnering with OpenAI has been a game-changer for our organization. Whether it’s gaining insights in the front office or unlocking performance on the racetrack, their technology is helping us think faster, move smarter, and stay at the forefront of innovation.”

The new livery for Palou is like a throwback to the livery used by Jimmie Johnson in his first-ever NTT INDYCAR SERIES test with Chip Ganassi Racing Honda on July 29, 2020, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course when NTT DATA sponsored the No.10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.
