Stewart Haas Racing team co owner Tony Stewart says his team probably have their Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 2021 driver line up complete after it was announced on Tuesday that Chase Briscoe will drive the No.4 High Point Ford.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during a Zoom media conference call on Tuesday following the news, Stewart said that his team’s line up for 2021 is probably complete with Chase Briscoe joining Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series veteran Kevin Harvick who drives the No.4 Busch Beer Ford Mustang and currently leads the championship.
Speaking about Briscoe, Stewart said that Ford saw his potential early and when he came into the SHR programme they could see the potential and that there were a lot of tore up race cars but Stewart said that is part of the learning process.
Stewart said that the team are excited to see Briscoe’s potential progress into next season and beyond.
Stewart also said it has been exciting to see Briscoe come up through the ranks and having raced briefly with his dad he is looking forward to working alongside him next season and into the future.
