NTT IndyCar Series driver Patricio O’Ward says he is exactly where he needs to be ahead of his return to the series with Carlin Racing at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin Texas for the IndyCar Classic.
Harding Steinbrenner Racing announced last month that they were running just one car for the 2019 NTT IndyCar Series season with Colton Herta in the No.88 Latitude Vacation Club Honda
This meant that O’Ward was out of drive, step in Trevor Carlin and Carlin Racing.
Starting with the IndyCar Classic at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin Texas next week, O’Ward will compete in 12 NTT IndyCar Series races with Carlin including the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge when Carlin expand to three cars.
Speaking about the news, O’Ward said:
I think I’ve landed exactly where I need to be, actually. “I’m really, really excited, I’m really happy. It’s a team that knows how to win. It’s just a matter of time where we start winning, we start getting poles, start getting podiums.
“I know Trevor is a winner. He likes winning, the whole team likes winning, I like winning. I think we’re going to mesh quite well.”
