It has been an incredible 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series season for Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud. This season is the Frenchman’s seventh competing in the series and his second with Roger Penske.

Pagenaud has won four races this season taking three in a row at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, The Honda Grand Prix of Alabama and the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Pagenaud also took victory at the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio. The Penske driver has also secured seven podium finishes this year.

Along with his victories, Pagenaud has also scored six Verizon P1 Awards. The Frenchman celebrated his 100th Verizon IndyCar Series start last time out at the IndyCar Grand Prix at at Watkins Glen presented by Hitachi finishing the race in 7th place.

Pagenaud made his Verizon IndyCar Series debut in 2011 with Dreyer & Reinbold before moving to Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in 2012 after finishing 2011 with HVM Racing.

In 2013 Pagenaud took his first Verizon IndyCar Series victory winning the Detroit Grand Prix he went on to finish the season in third place in the series standings.

In 2014, Pagenaud took victory at the inaugural Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis and ended the season in fifth place in the standings. For the 2015 season, Pagenaud joined Will Power, Helio Castroneves and Juan Pablo Montoya at Team Penske.

Pagenaud goes into this weekend’s double points season finale in Sonoma on 555 points, 43 ahead of team mate and championship rival Will Power.
