Team Penke’s Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 PPG Automotive Refinish Chevrolet will roll off from pole in tomorrow’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park after setting a P1 Award time of 1.06.7262s and will start the race just ahead of team mate Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet.

Josef Newgarden in the No.21 Fuzzy’s Chevrolet will start the race that he won last season from third place with reigning series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 Coca-Cola Chevrolet starting P4.

Following a strong start to his weekend, KVSH Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais qualified in fifth place with the No.15 PennGrade Motor Oil Honda of Graham Rahal rounding out the top six.

Helio Castroneves in the No.3 AAA Insurance Chevrolet starts the race from seventh place just ahead of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda of James Hinchcliffe.

Tony Kanaan in the No.10 NTT Data Chevrolet was left frustrated by Sebastien Bourdais who he felt had held him up on his fast lap and will start the race from ninth place.

Charlie Kimball in the No.83 Tresiba® Chevrolet rounded out the top ten and will start the race just ahead of his team mate Max Chilton in the No.8 Gallagher Chevrolet. Luca Filippi who has been fast all day will start the race from 12th place in the No.19 Boy Scouts of America Dale Coyne Racing Honda.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Mikhail Aleshin will start the race from 13th place just ahead of the first of the AJ Foyt Racing cars with Jack Hawksworth starting the race from 14th place ahead of the leading Andretti Autosport of Carlos Munoz in the No.26.

Takuma Sato in the No.14 AJ Foyt Racing Honda starts the race from 16th place just ahead of Conor Daly in the No.18 Jonathan Bryd’s Hospitality Dale Coyne Racing Honda.

Andretti Autosport’s poor form continued on Saturday with Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda starting tomorrow’s race from 18th place just ahead of team mate’s Marco Andretti and Alexander Rossi. Team Penske sandwiched the field as Juan Pablo Montoya in the No.2 Verizon Chevrolet will start from right at the back in 21st place.
