Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Simon Pagenaud who is at home in France this week on a media tour to celebrate his win in the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge in May has signed a new multi-year contract with Team Penske according to reports in the US on Tuesday.

Pagenaud who joined Team Penske from Schmidt Peterson Motorsports ahead of the 2015 NTT IndyCar Series season and won the championship in 2016.

Pagenaud has refused to comment on the reports and Team Penske have also refused to comment however speaking at the Indianapolis 500 post race winners press conference, team owner Roger Penske said that there was no reeason why Pagenaud would not be at the team in 2020.

The Frenchman heads to the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway later this month in third place in the championship on 457 points having won three races, the IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis, the Indianapolis 500 and the Honda Indy Toronto last month.
