Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou in the No.10 DHL Honda ended the final test day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway fastest with a speed of 224.342MPH just ahead of defending Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden in the No.2 Shell Team Penske Chevrolet while in his first outing for Dale Coyne Racing, Rinus VeeKay was third with a speed of 223.383MPH.
Graham Rahal was fourth fastest for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing just ahead of Marcus Ericsson and Helio Castroneves while Alexander Rossi ended his first day with Ed Carpenter Racing in seventh place.
Ryan Hunter Reay was eighth for Dreyer and Reinbold Racing just ahead of Santino Ferrucci and Christian Lundgaard while Conor Daly rounded out the order for Juncos Hollinger Racing in 11th.
