Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou in the No.10 Ridgeline Lubricants Honda was the fastest driver in the second practice session for Sunday’s Children’s Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park. The Spaniard set the fastest time of 01:06.2781s ending the session just ahead of Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin.
Six-time series champion Scott Dixon was fourth fastest in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, with a time of 01:06.6090s ending up just ahead of Colton Herta.
Romain Grosjean was sixth fastest just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Alexander Rossi, while Pato O’Ward was ninth; Championship leader Marcus Ericsson rounded out the top ten just ahead of Devlin DeFrancesco and Long Beach winner Kyle Kirkwood in the No.27 AutoNation Honda.
Felix Rosenqvist in the No.6 NTT DATA Chevrolet was 13th just ahead of Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Callum Ilott while Marcus Armstrong was P15 just ahead of Graham Rahal and defending series champion Will Power in the No.12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet. David Malukas was 18th just ahead of Simon Pagenaud while Rinus VeeKay rounded out the top 20.
Jack Harvey was 21st just ahead of Helio Castroneves while Conor Daly was 23rd just ahead of Sting Ray Robb and the AJ Foyt Racing duo of Santino Ferrucci and Benjamin Pedersen while Agustin Canapino rounded out the order in 27th place.
