Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion and current points leader Scott Dixon, driver of the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda says that his new teammate Alex Palou who drives the No.10 NTT DATA Honda has settled in nicely at the team and has been like a sponge absorbing information, asking questions and looking for advice.
Palou and Dixon dominated the early stages of the Genesys 300 at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend with Palou starting the race from pole position by virtue of the fact he went into the weekend leading the championship. The Iceman took the lead off the line and never looked back scoring his 51st career victory and his first of the season.
Speaking about Arrow McLaren SP’s Pato O’Ward who took his first IndyCar Series win on Sunday in the XPEL 375, Dixon said:
Huge congrats to Pato. “I was watching from back a few spots there, and what he did there at the end was a tremendous drive, especially against one of the best guys in the field.
“Hopefully he calms down a little bit and doesn’t make it too often.
Dixon heads into the month of May track activity at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a 22 point lead in the championship over Pato O’Ward while Palou is third in the championship on 127 points.
