Defending NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion and Thermal $1 million Challenge winner Alex Palou, driver of the No.10 Ridgeline Lubricants DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, says that if the series returns to the Thermal Club, then it must be a points race.
Given the lack of in-season testing, this weekend’s event was an exhibition and extended test for the teams. Speaking to the media following the event, Palou, who was fastest in two of the practice sessions, said that if the series is to do another exhibition race, it should be either before the season starts or after it finishes.
Despite his initial thoughts, Palou said he wouldn’t mind if there was another event, like in October or January, and believes there should be a test race over the off-season.
