Defending NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou in the No.10 Ridgeline Chip Ganassi Racing Honda says that track conditions weren’t too bad in the first practice session at the Thermal Club on Friday.
Speaking to Paddock Eye following the first session, Palou said:
Yeah, it was actually not too bad. Like, it was not very dirty or anything like that. It’s not a track that it’s very affected on the rubber that we lay on track. There’s other tracks that we go to that you would see a big evolution on track grip and overall performance of the cars throughout the session.
It’s fairly cold in the morning, then it just keeps on going up with the temperature on the track (loss of audio). That helps keeping conditions fairly easy (loss of audio) going out and exploring.
Speaking to NBC Peacock on Friday afternoon, Palou said that the team are using Thermal test to look for the rest of the season and speaking about St Pete he said that the team thought they were in a good place for the race and came home in sixth and says that it was a better start to the season compared to last season where he finished the race in eighth place.
