Defending NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Alex Palou in the No.10 HRC Chip Ganassi Racing Honda says that it was an amazing day for the No.10 team as he took his seventh NTT P1 Award at Barber Motorsports Park where he won on his race debut with CGR in 2021.
What an amazing day for the 10 car. “This is such a special place for us here. We got our first race win in INDYCAR back in 2021.
“It was super close. I don’t think my first lap (in the Firestone Fast Six) was very good. I was just hoping to get a perfect lap on the second one on the alternates (Firestone Firehawk tires). So, yeah, cannot wait for tomorrow now.”
It was a great day for Kyffin Simpson in the No.8 Journie Rewards Honda as the Cayman Islands native started the race from tenth place. It was a terrible session for six-time series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda as he starts a season-low 26th out of the 27-car field. It is the Iceman’s worst qualifying performance since the 2021 Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix.
