Paretta Autosport team founder and owner Beth Paretta says that she wants her team to not just promote female drivers in the NTT IndyCar Series but in all aspects of the team from background staff to pit-crew members. Speaking to Paddock Eye on Tuesday, Paretta said that the team are hoping to compete in more than just the Indianapolis 500 this season if the circumstances allow.

Paretta Autosport will field Simona De Silvestro in the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge in May with technical support from Team Penske.

Paretta’s relationship with Penske didn’t happen overnight but dates back to 2007 and Paretta said that being with Chevrolet this season will be beneficial for the team given their technical partnership with Team Penske.

Speaking about the addition of of Simona De Silvestro to her team, Paretta said that although the Swiss driver hasn’t raced in the Indianapolis 500 since 2015, she has extensive experience in other forms of races as she has remained active in racing since her last Indy outing and that this experience will help her and the team during the month of May.

Paretta has confirmed that in 2022 she hopes that the team will be full-time in the NTT IndyCar Series and that she would love to have two cars in the field.

Paretta has confirmed to Paddock Eye that in the future Paretta Autosport would like to run both a female and male IndyCar Series driver and that not on track but she has confirmed that some drivers in the paddock have said that they would love to be serviced by an all female crew on pit-road.
