Paretta Autosport, the female-forward NTT IndyCar Series team led by team owner Beth Paretta will make history on Sunday when they take the field for the 105th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge as it is the first time Indy 500 history that a female-owned team has run a car in the Greatest Spectacle in Racing with a female driver.

Simona De Silvestro will get behind the wheel of her No.16 ROCKET Pro TPO Money Lion Chevrolet and roll off from 33rd on the grid to make her sixth start in the most famous motor race on the planet.

Linda Conti who was due to serve as one of Simona De Silvestro’s spotters on Sunday will miss the race unfortunately as she has been called up to spot for Team Penske in NASCAR. Linda’s spot will be taken by W Series driver Ayla Argen who returns as De Silvestro’s spotter fresh from pre-season testing in Wales.

Veteran Team Penske engineer Vance Welker is serving as De Silvestro’s race strategist while he will also be on the box to stop Simona, he will change the right front and send Simona on her way.

Madison Conrad is the left rear tire changer while Amanda Frayer will change the outside rear tire. Caitlyn Brown will work on the inside front tire.

Simona De Silvestro is full of confidence in her crew and the car and believes that the team have what it takes to finish inside the top ten. The team will certainly be one to watch on Sunday.
