Ed Carpenter Racing’s Danica Patrick has shown that she has lost none of her speed despite being out of an IndyCar for seven years.
Patrick will start her final Indianapolis 500 this weekend from seventh place on the grid having set a four lap average qualifying speed of 228.090MPH and is the highest placed one off drivers.
At Paddock Eye we watched Patrick’s qualifying run and it was like as if she had never left the Verizon IndyCar Series.
Patrick is working with a number of familiar faces at ECR who worked with her during her time with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing and her stint with Andretti Autosport when drove in the Verizon IndyCar Series full-time from 2005-2011.
Ed Carpenter Racing have been extremely competitive at the Indianapolis 500 and it is likely that this will be the case again this year particularly with Ed Carpenter starting the race from pole position.
