Team Penske president Tim Cindric has confirmed that Supercar champion Scott McLaughlin’s IndyCar test at Sebring International Raceway on Monday was not a publicity stunt or one off.

Cindric has confirmed that although they have yet to announce a deal the team are planning to run the 26 year old New Zealander at the two day Spring Training event at the Circuit of the Americas next month.

Cindric says the team are looking at the possibility of entering him into a number of races this season in a four Team Penske Chevrolet NTT IndyCar.

Cindric confirmed that there is the possibility of McLaughlin competing in the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis in May which is an off weekend for the Australian V8 championship and IMSA as Helio Castroneves has not been confirmed for the IndyCar Grand Prix.
