NBC Sport IndyCar commentator Lee Diffey says he believes there will be real life fall out from the events of Saturday’s NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge First Responder 175 presented by GMR at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The final race of the of the NTT IndyCar Series iRacing Challenge saw some great racing however there was controversy towards the end of the race when defending Indianapolis 500 champion Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Team Penske Chevrolet retaliated against Arrow McLaren SP driver Lando Norris which saw the McLaren driver who was leading the race go airborne eventually finishing the race in 21st place.
The Frenchman was seen saying to his race engineer Ben Bretzman to take Norris out to which his engineer not to do anything he would regret to which Pagenaud said I regret nothing.
When asked by Paddock Eye if he thinks there will be real life fallout from what happened on Saturday, Diffey said:
Yeah I do … somewhere down the road. People won’t forget … even though it was in the virtual world.
