Formula One tyre supplier Pirelli have cancelled their planned two day tyre test at the Interlagos circuit in Brazil on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Lando Norris and Stoffel Vandoorne were set to conduct the test however that plan has now been cancelled.
The decision comes after a van transporting Pirelli personnel from the circuit following Sunday’s Grand Prix was attacked by robbers, the attempted robbery was foiled by Pirelli security personnel and no one was hurt in the incident.
It was the third incident over the course of the race weekend. On Friday night, members of the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team were caught up in an incident which resulted in shots being fired.
On Saturday, members of the Sauber F1 Team had their van rammed but they managed to escape unhurt.
Pirelli confirmed that following consultation with McLaren, F1 and the FIA that to ensure the safety of the team personnel the test has been cancelled.
