It was announced today that the World Rally Championship will launch their 2019 season at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham in January.
There is a lot to decide before then however, like who is going to be crowned 2018 champion with M-Sport and Hyundai locked in a tight battle for the championship with just three points separating Sebastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville with just one event remaining.
We have already had the news that Kris Meeke will make his return to the World Rally Championship in 2019 with Toyota Gazoo Racing.
It has also been confirmed that Sebastien Ogier will leave M-Sport at the end of the season to return to Citroën Racing where he made his debut.
What is not clear yet is where Ireland’s Craig Breen will end up in 2019. The Waterford native has confirmed that he will have a works WRC drive next season but is in talks with a all four manufacturers.
It is going to be a very interesting off season particularly with talk of WRC legend Sebastian Loeb on M-Sport’s radar for 2019.
