Premium Motorsports Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Brennan Poole and his sponsor Spartan Mosquito have teamed up this Memorial Day weekend to support American families and service men and women during COVID 19 by donating part of his salary to provide 500,000 meals to his hometown of Houston, Texas.
Spartan Mosquito have donated $125,000 worth of their food products to Houeston veterans this weekend.
Speaking about the announcement Poole said:
During this incredibly hard time, it is so important to me to make an impact and provide some relief to the city that built me. “Food fuels our communities. When we support food banks, we directly get food into the hands of those who need it and broaden the strength of our recovery.”
Brian Greene, President and CEO of Houston Food Bank said:
“They often say ‘you can take the person out of Texas but you can’t take the Texas out of the person,’ and Brennan is proof of that. “Brennan made a generous donation during Hurricane Harvey, and now that Houston is facing its greatest need ever as a result of COVID-19, he is once again showing his support for his hometown. On behalf of Houston Food Bank and the tens of thousands of people who will be touched by his generous donation, we thank you.”
Poole who is preparing for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway concluded saying:
There are so many things we need to honor this Memorial Day and Coca-Cola 600 weekend: our first responders and medical professionals, those greatly affected by COVID-19, and the men and women of the Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I am so proud to be an American and to wear the Spartan colors this weekend every time I’m on the track,”
