Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet says he aims to go back-to-back in Road America this weekend after claiming victory here in 2024.

The Australian heads to Wisconsin with momentum on his side after claiming the NTT P1 Award last time out at World Wide Technology Raceway. Had it not been for a right front tire failure in Sunday’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500, Power would have been competing for the victory. Chevrolet heads into this weekend looking to put the brakes on Honda’s dominance of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.

Looking ahead to Road America, Power, a two-time winner here, said:

“I would say, aside from the 2 team winning the Indy 500, the Road America weekend was definitely our high mark last year as an organization. Those podium sweeps are very rare and to do it at a place like Road America was pretty special. It’s such a big place with long lap times where we can really show the strength of our Chevy engines. We were on top of the podium last year so that is the goal this year for the Verizon Chevy team.”

Last season, the XPEL Grand Prix of Road America saw a Penske podium sweep, with Will Power taking victory, followed by Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin in second and third place, respectively.

McLaughlin goes into the race looking to put the disappointment of last weekend’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500 firmly behind him, saying:

“Road America was always one of those classic American tracks that I couldn’t wait to get to when I joined the INDYCAR SERIES. Now it has even more meaning for the XPEL Chevy team with XPEL having the naming rights to the race. We were close to giving them a win last year in our 1-2-3 finish by Team Penske. Will and Josef are always tough to beat there but with the speed we’ve shown in our car – despite the lack of any kind of luck – we can be right there with them again this year.”

Team Penske’s drivers go into this weekend’s race with Will Power seventh in the standings on 181 points, Scott McLaughlin in eighth on 171, and Josef Newgarden in 16th on 132 points.
