Will Power driver of the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet is the leading Team Penske driver in fifth the championship.

The Australian’s best result to date this season is a third-place finish at the Sonsio Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the IMS road course last month.

Power is in a contract year with Team Penske, however, with him leading the charge for the team at the moment it will be interesting to see what he can do over the coming races.

There are reports that AJ Foyt Racing’s David Malukas has signed a deal to race for Team Penske to replace Will Power next season, however, Paddock Eye understands that Malukas has a multi-year contract with AJ Foyt Racing.

Foyt has their technical partnership with Team Penske which has been in place for the past few years however, this does not by any means suggest that that Penske will make a play for David Malukas.

Malukas has had a great season to date having scored a podium at The Greatest Spectacle In Racing with second.

Santino Ferrucci followed this up with second place in Detroit which is where Malukas started on the front row alongside pole-sitter Colton Herta.

Power’s teammate’s Scott McLaughlin and Josef Newgarden are currently eighth and twelfth in the championship respectively.

Newgarden is 185 points behind championship leader Alex Palou.

If and that is a MASSIVE IF, Power is indeed not returning to Penske in 2026, who would replace Malukas at Foyt should the Chicago native go to Penske.

Will Power has said that he still has four or five years left in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and Paddock Eye understands that if this is the case it is more than likely that Power will indeed remain in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet in 2026 and beyond with Malukas remaining at Foyt.
