Team Penske’s Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet led the no tow speed on Fast Friday at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Friday setting a fastest no tow speed of 229.780MPH.

The no tow speed is when drivers don’t have a car in front of them being towed down the speedway.

Reigning Verizon IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden was second fastest in the No.1 Verizon Chevrolet for Team Penske with a fastest speed of 228.994MPH ending the day just ahead of Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet with a fastest speed of 228.857MPH.

The Verizon IndyCar Series only team owner/driver Ed Carpenter was fourth fastest in the No.20 Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet with a fastest speed of 228.740MPH.

Vasser Sullivan with Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 SealMaster Honda was the fastest Honda powered car in fifth place with a fastest no tow speed of 228.657MPH.

Ed Carpenter Racing’s Spencer Pigot in the No.21 Preferred Freezer Services Chevrolet was sixth fastest in the no tow with a fastest speed of 228.424MPH.

Danica Patrick in the No.13 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing set the seventh fastest no tow speed with a 228.284MPH ending the day just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda with a 228.194MPH.

Tony Kanaan in the No.14 ABC Supply Chevrolet for AJ Foyt Racing ended the day with the ninth no tow fastest speed of 227.997MPH. Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Robert Wickens rounded out the top ten with a no tow speed of 227.968MPH ending the day just ahead of Team Penske’s Helio Castroneves in the No.3 Pennzoil Chevrolet with a fastest speed of 227.895MPH.

Bryan Herta Autosport’s Marco Andretti in the No.98 US Concrete Honda who set the fastest speed of the day ended Fast Friday with the 12th fastest no tow speed of 227.817MPH.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda overcame a migraine to set the 13th fastest no tow speed of 227.741MPH.

AJ Foyt Racing’s Matheus ‘Matt’ Leist in the No.4 ABC Supply Chevrolet set the 14th fastest no tow speed of 227.687MPH. Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda ended the day with the 15th fastest no tow speed of 227.563MPH.

Carlin Racing’s Charlie Kimball was 16th fastest with the no tow speed with a 227.407MPH. Andretti Autosport’s Zach Veach in the No.26 Relay Honda was 17th in the no tow with a 227.314MPH just ahead of Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s JR Hildebrand who had a speed of 227.242MPH.

Dale Coyne Racing’s Zachary Claman DeMelo in the No.19 Paysafe Honda ended the day with the 19th fastest no tow speed of 227.186MPH.

Scuderia Corsa/Manitowoc Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Oriol Servia was 20th fastest with the no tow speed of 227.168MPH ending up just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Ed Jones in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda with a speed of 227.140MPH.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda ended the day with the 23rd fastest no tow speed of 226.950MPH ending the day just ahead of Carlin Racing’s Max Chilton in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet with a speed of 226.845MPH.

Dale Coyne Racing’s Conor Daly in the No.17 USAF Honda ended the day with the 26th no tow fastest speed of 226.752MPH.

Dreyer & Reinbold Racing’s Sage Karam in the No.24 Mecum Chevrolet was 30th fastest with a no tow speed of 226.302MPH ending the day just ahead of Schmidt Peterson Motor Sports Jay Howard in the No.7 One Cure Honda who had a no tow speed of 226.138MPH.

Pippa Mann for Dale Coyne Racing was 32nd fastest in the no tow speed charts with a 226.082MPH.

Juncos Racing’s Kyle Kaiser was 33rd in the no tow charts with a speed of 226.039MPH. Graham Rahal in the No.15 United Rentals Honda for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing ended the day with the 34th fastest no tow speed of 225.375MPH.
