The Penske power house endure a tough day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the final practice session ahead of Friday’s Carb Day, the final track action before Sunday’s 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil as Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet was the leading driver from Roger Penske’s stable ending the day in 18th place completing 96 laps with a fastest speed of 224.560mph. Speaking following the session Power who starts the Indy 500 from sixth place commented by saying:

The Verizon Chevy ran well today.  We feel comfortable going into the race and we’re definitely where we need to be.  Very happy with the race work we have put in so far.

Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Juan Pablo Montoya in the No.2 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet will attempt to take back to back victories from 17th place on the grid and on Monday the Colombian completed 81 laps and ended the day in 20th place with a fastest speed of 224.467mph and speaking following his time in the car he commented by saying:

It was a good day out there. We tried a lot of different things. The Verizon Chevrolet responded well to some and not to others. The conditions were difficult with the warm temperatures. The crew has done a great job all season and I’m certain they’ll give me a great car on race day.

Verizon IndyCar Series points leader Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Team Penske Chevrolet will start the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil from eighth place ended Monday’s session in 22nd place and speaking following the hectic day of on track action the Frenchman commented by saying:

I’m happy with the Menards Team Penske Chevrolet.  I feel confident in it.  Overall, we had a really good run today and we were able to get more, great race preparation in.  I think we’re in good shape for this weekend.

Helio Castroneves in the No.3 Pennzoil Chevrolet will roll off for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil from 8th place and on Monday the Brazilian completed 103 laps on his way to positing the 24th fastest time of the day and speaking following the conclusion of the track action he commented by saying:

We threw a lot of stuff at the Pennzoil Chevy today. We just tried a lot of combinations with the warm weather to see what would happen in traffic. The guys have worked really hard on this car and we’re excited that race day is getting closer and closer.
