Team Penske’s Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet was the pace setter on the second and final day of pre-season testing ahead of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding which takes place in less than two weeks time.

Power set a fastest time of 52.2549s and speaking following the action he said:

“It’s funny, after a couple days back in the car, you feel right at home, back to the same old stuff, and going through the same old changes and just confirming stuff. “I know it so well now, but it always changes. It’s never the same. So, you’ve got to be on your toes, super-tight field.”

Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden was second just ahead of Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward and Meyer Shank Racing’s Marcus Armstrong.

Colton Herta was fifth for Andretti Global just ahead of Nolan Siegel and defending series champion Alex Palou in the No.10 DHL Chip Ganassi Racing Honda.

PREMA Racing’s Callum Ilott was eighth just ahead of Felix Rosenqvist in the No.60 Sirius XM Honda.

Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Conor Daly rounded out the top ten while Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Devlin DeFrancesco was 11th just ahead of Marcus Armstrong.

Scott Dixon was 13th despite a minor crash in the opening 15 minutes after a mechanical issue on Monday curtailed the Iceman’s running.

Kyle Kirkwood was 14th just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and AJ Foyt Racing’s Santino Ferrucci.

Alexander Rossi in the No.20 Java Coffee House for Ed Carpenter Racing was 17th.

Jacob Abel was 18th for Dale Coyne Racing just ahead of Sting Ray Robb and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Kyffin Simpson.

Rinus VeeKay was 21st just ahead of Robert Shwartzman and David Malukas while Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin was 24th just ahead of the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing pairing of Graham Rahal and Louis Foster.

Christian Rasmussen was 27th while Marcus Ericsson rounded out the order for Andretti Global as the Swede completed the most number of laps at 140.

The next time the NTT INDYCAR SERIES will be on track will be for the opening practice session for the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding on Friday, February 28.
