The Australian set a fastest time of 1m 00.8965s completing 18 laps and ending the session just ahead of the No.14 ABC Supply AJ Foyt Racing Honda of Jack Hawksworth who once again showed great pace following an impressive opening day on Friday.
The Englishman set a fastest time of 1m 00.9798s on his way to completing 16 laps and ending the session just ahead of Juan Pablo Montoya in the No.2 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet. The Colombian set a fastest time 1m 01.0500s completing 20 laps and ending the morning session just ahead of the No.15 Steak N’Shake Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda of Graham Rahal.
Helio Castroneves was fifth fastest in the No.3 Hitachi Team Penske Chevrolet ending the morning just ahead of the No.21 Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet of Josef Newgarden.
Simon Pagenaud was 7th fastest in the No.22 Hewlett Packard Team Penske Chevrolet just ahead of his countryman Sebastien Bourdais in the No.11 Team Hydroxycut KVSH Racing Chevrolet. Bourdais completed 21 laps with a fastest time 1m 01.2515s.
Takuma Sato in the No.14 ABC Supply AJ Foyt Racing Honda was ninth fastest ending the morning just ahead of reigning series champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 Target Chip Ganassi Racing Team Chevrolet who rounded out the top ten.
Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Mikhail Aleshin in the No.7 Honda was 11th fastest ending up just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Marco Andretti in the No.27 Snapple Honda.
Charlie Kimball was 13th fastest in the No.83 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet while James Hinchcliffe was 14th fastest in the Arrow Electronics Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda. The Canadian ended the session just ahead of the No.28 DHL Honda of Ryan Hunter Reay who brought out a brief red flag as his Andretti Autosport machine ran dry of fuel.
Hunter Reay ended the session just ahead of his team mate Alexander Rossi in the No.98 Castrol Edge Andretti Herta Autosport Honda. Tony Kanaan in the No.10 NTT Data Chip Ganassi Racing Team Chevrolet was 17th fastest completing 22 laps and ending the morning ahead of the No.26 Andretti Autosport Honda of Carlos Munoz.
Spencer Pigot in the No.16 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda was 19th fastest ending the morning just ahead of Max Chilton in the No.8 Gallagher Chip Ganassi Racing Team Chevrolet.
Luca Filippi and Conor Daly rounded out the order for Dal Coyne Racing in 21st and 22nd respectively.
