Texas Motor Speedway announced on Thursday that the April 2 NTT IndyCar Series race there will be sponsored by PPG with the race being renamed the PPG 375.
The news comes as a direct result of two-time IndyCar Series champion and Team Penske driver Joesf Newgarden’s win here last season in the No.2 PPG Team Penske Chevrolet on the last lap over his teammate Scott McLaughlin.
Texas Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager Mark Faber said:
Texas Motor Speedway is proud to welcome PPG to our family of race entitlement partners. “The speedway has utilized PPG products for years to paint the many race and series logos on the front straightaway’s grass ballfield as well as many other areas throughout the facility. We look forward to bringing our race fans another exciting and action-filled weekend of NTT INDYCAR SERIES competition.”
Bryan Iams, PPG chief communications officer said:
PPG is proud to serve as the primary entitlement sponsor at the NTT INDYCAR SERIES race at Texas Motor Speedway. “Our paints, coatings and specialty materials have a long history with racing, including our valued nearly 40-year partnership with Team Penske.”
