Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal and Ed Carpenter Racing’s Josef Newgarden have been penalized by Verizon IndyCar officials for failing post qualifying inspection.

The news means that Rahal and Newgarden will start today’s Angie’s List GrandPrix of Indianapolis from 24th and 25th place respectively.

Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe will now start the race in his No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda from third place on the grid.
