Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team co-owner Bobby Rahal has confirmed that he has held preliminary talks with former Schmidt Peterson Motorsports race engineer Leena Gade about taking up a role within his team.

Gade left Schmidt Peterson Motorsports abruptly last month after just five races having moved to the Verizon IndyCar Series from the World Endurance Championship.

Rahal confirmed that the team are keen to bring Gade on board however when asked by Motorsport.com who broke the story Rahal did not specify if Gade would be with the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Verizon IndyCar Series team or their team in the IMSA Whether Tech Endurance Championship.

Gade has also held talks with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s technical director Tom German who also serves as Graham Rahal’s race engineer in the Verizon IndyCar Series.
