Will Power in the No.12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet ended the session in third place just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Verizon IndyCar Series points leader Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda ended the session in fifth place just ahead of Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet for Team Penske. The Frenchman ran wide and hit the tyre wall with just four minutes to go in the session.
Dale Coyne with Vasser Sullivan Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 Team SealMaster Honda ended the session in seventh place just ahead of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Robert Wickens in the No.6 Lucas Oil Honda.
Takuma Sato in the No.30 MiJack/Panasonic Honda ended the session in ninth place for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Andretti Autosport’s Zach Veach in the No.26 Relay Group 1001 Honda rounded out the top ten.
Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda ended the session in 11th place just ahead of Carlin Racing’s Max Chilton in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet. Ed Carpenter Racing’s Jordan King was 13th just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda.
Harding Racing’s Conor Daly in the No.88 Harding Group Chevrolet ended the session 15th place just ahead of Carlin Racing’s Charlie Kimball in the No.23 Tresiba Chevrolet.
Spencer Pigot in the No.21 Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet was 17th just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Tony Kanaan in the No.14 ABC Supply Chevrolet. Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Honda was 19th for Meyer Shank Racing with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.
Marco Andretti in the No.98 Ruoff Home Mortgages Honda was 20th for Bryan Herta Autosport ending the session just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Ed Jones in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda. Matheus ‘Matt’ Leist was 22nd fastest for AJ Foyt Racing after hitting the wall and bringing out the red flag.
Pietro Fittipaldi in the No.19 Paysafe Honda for Dale Coyne Racing was 23rd fastest after bringing out the red flag as a result of spinning off track. Juncos Racing’s Rene Binder rounded out the order in 24th place.
