The prospect of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing running a third car full time in the NTT IndyCar Series in 2020 looks like it might be back on the cards with team owner Bobby Rahal confirming to NBC that he is interested in signing James Hinchcliffe.
Although it has not been officially confirmed that Hinchcliffe has left Arrow McLaren SP, Bobby Rahal said that given the late stage in the year it is not an ideal situation for the Mayor of HinchTown losing his seat and if he can make a deal happen he will.
Rahal who was looking at adding a third car for next season but abandoned it due to financial constraints said it may be tricky to get a budget in place.
Hinch was team mate to Graham Rahal at Newman Haas and the Canadian is great with sponsors, the media and would be a perfect fit with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing alongside Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato.
Hinch also has a great relationship with Honda.
