Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal in the No.15 Code 3 Associates Honda led the way in race day warm up ahead of Sunday’s opening event of the 2021 NTT IndyCar Series season at Barber Motorsports Park.
Rahal set a time of 01:06.7319s while Dale Coyne with Rick Ware Racing’s Romain Grosjean was second fastest continuing his progress from Saturday.
It was a great session for AJ Foyt Racing and Sebastien Bourdais as the Frenchman was third just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou in the No.10 Segi NTT DATA Honda.
Conor Daly was fifth for Ed Carpenter Racing just ahead of defending champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda while Colton Herta was seventh for Andretti Autosport.
Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus Veekay was eighth fastest just ahead of Ryan Hunter-Reay the No.28 DHL Honda just ahead of polesitter Pato O’Ward in the No.5 Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet who rounded out the top ten.
Josef Newgarden and front row starter Alexander Rossi were 11th and 12th respectively just ahead of Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 PPG Chevrolet.
Felix Rosenqvist in the No.7 Vuse Arrow McLaren SP Chevrolet was 14th just ahead of Dalton Kellett and Will Power in the No.12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet for Team Penske.
Simon Pagenaud was 17th just ahead of Jack Harvey and Takuma Sato while Marcus Ericsson in the No.8 Huski Chocolate Honda rounded out the top 20.
Andretti Harding Steinbrenner Autosport’s James Hinchcliffe in the No.29 Genesys Honda was 21st just ahead of Carlin’s Max Chilton and Ed Jones while Jimmie Johnson rounded out the order.
