Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing head into the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season looking to build on what was a strong season in 2019 which saw Takuma Sato scores two victories in Barber Motorsports Park and at World Wide Technology Raceway, the Japanese driver also finished third in the Indianapolis 500 in 2019.
Graham Rahal in the No.15 United Rentals Honda is at Sebring International Raceway today for the final preseason test ahead of the opening race of the season, the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg which takes place from March 13 to 15.
Rahal is hoping for a strong 2020 season following a tough 2019 campaign.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing have partnered with Citrone Buhl Autosport to run Spencer Pigot for the Month of May at the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis and the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. Pigot will drive the No.45 Honda.
Speaking ahead of the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg, team co owner Bobby Rahal said:
We’ve had more and better testing this offseason in the wind tunnel and with seven-post tests, and I think we’ve come up with some things that makes our cars much more accurate (in those tests) and that will be a big plus. There are a lot of positives on the development and research side of our program. Last year, we really should have finished 1-2 at Barber, and we had races where we were clearly better – or at least as good – (as) everyone else. Then there were races where we weren’t. The goal is to reduce the peaks and valleys and have more of a flat line on the high level.
