Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing once again proved during the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series championship that you don’t have to be a big team to be successful in the sport.

Graham Rahal in the single car team was extremely successful during the 2017 season having won the double header in Detroit and by being extremely consistent during the season.

Rahal finished the season in sixth place in the championship and was the first non Penske or Ganassi driver in championship.

Tom German joined Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing at the end of 2016 after playing a key role in Alexander Rossi winning the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil with Andretti Autosport.

The team also have a great management structure in place with Bobby Rahal, former talk show host David Letterman and Mike Lanigan running the team.

The Bobby Rahal Automotive Group of which Graham is a junior partner is extremely successful and that has transferred across to their Verizon IndyCar Series programme over the years with Bob Rahal bringing in the best people like German which has allowed RLLR to compete at the front week in week out.

In 2018, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing will return to a two car full-time Verizon IndyCar Series programme having signed Indianapolis 500 champion Takuma Sato to drive alongside Rahal in 2018.

In expanding to a two car full-time programme, Rahal will be able to move forward and build on a strong 2017 season. Sato is an extremely experienced driver and has a great relationship with Graham Rahal and also knows the team having previously raced for them in IndyCar.

This experience will be invaluable with the introduction of the new universal aero kits in 2018.
