Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal driving the No.15 Bobby Rahal Automotive Group Honda will start Sunday’s ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway from 11th place on the grid.
Rahal who struggle in Saturday’s warm up session made changes with his crew between practice and qualifying and as a result will start the 200 lap race just ahead of Jack Haksworth in the No.41 ABC Supply Co Honda after recording a two lap qualifying average of 218.204mph.
Speaking following the session, Rahal commented by saying:
We trimmed out a lot more than (fellow Honda driver) Munoz and some others. The balance has been good but we’ve been lacking speed so we trimmed out a ton compared to them. I think we could have gotten away with it but the under steer was sky high. A little bit of lifting (off the throttle) and your time drops. I was pleased to see 18.3 (lap time) but I think we could have done a high 19 or 20 had we been flat so we’ve got to work on that but ultimately what matters most is having a good race car and we’re going to work on that in the final practice.
