Scuderia Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen has refuted suggestions that he is set to return to McLaren in 2019 to potentially replace Fernando Alonso.
It has been reported that McLaren are looking a Raikkonen as a potential replacement for Fernando Alonso should the Spaniard to decide to race elsewhere in 2019. When asked about McLaren during Thursday’s driver press conference in Austria, the Iceman said that he spoke to the people when he drove for the team.
The Finn who finished on the podium last time out in France last weekend has been linked with a Ferrari exit at the end of the season with the Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 Team’s Charles LeClerc being linked with the seat alongside Sebastien Vettel.
Raikkonen says he will remain in Formula One as long as he continues to enjoy his racing which is what he is doing now.
