Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen ended the final day of the opening winter Formula One test as the fastest driver. The Finn who set the fastest time of 01:22.305s prior to the lunch break continued to progress staying on top in the afternoon ending the day and test with a 01:20.872s.
The Iceman completed 92 laps ending the day just ahead of Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen who completed 85 laps with a fastest time of 01:21.769s while Renault Sport F1 Team’s Jolyon Palmer rounded out the top three.
Romain Grosjean continued his programme for the Haas F1 Team ending the day in fourth place once again. The Frenchman completed 116 laps with a fastest time of 01:22.309s while the Sauber F1 Team’s Antonio Giovinazzi was fifth fastest in the Ferrari power ed C36.
Force India’s Sergio Perez was sixth fastest completing 82 laps in the VJM10 with a fastest time of 01:22.534s.
McLaren Honda’s Stoffel Vandoorne was back in the MCL32 completing 66 laps posting the seventh fastest time for the Woking based outfit with a 01:22.576s.
Valtteri Bottas was eighth fastest for the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. The Finn completed 68 laps with a fastest time of 01:23.443s.
The Renault Sport F1 Team’s Nico Hulkenberg completed 51 laps in the R.S17 with a fastest time of 01:24.974s.
Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat rounded out the order in 10th place completing just one installation lap.
Lewis Hamilton was unable to run today due to an electrical issue with the Mercedes W08 while Williams did not today due to damage on the FW40.
Winter testing concludes next week at the Barcelona Circuit Du Catalunya with four more days from March 7-10 before the team’s head to Melbourne for the opening race of the season.
